Humidity meter : a device measure the moisture and atmosphere

Humidity meters are also known as hygrometers which are used in several cases for measuring the moisture in the atmosphere. Humidity Meters can mostly be used in industrial processes and also in medical industries where controlling humidity is required a lot.

Weather Hygrometers

This Humidity Meters are used for predicting weather-related problems or some upcoming disasters that might pose a threat to humankind. It is used to depict rain and thus prevent farmers from beforehand. Humidity Meters also depict the fog percentage in the air and this might help the drivers.

Psycho meter is an important form of device in which two thermometers are used to compare the level of humidity. One is kept dry and another wet. Dry and icy conditions are depicted by this during Airplane takeoffs, mountain fires and so on. It is also used in refrigerators and air conditioners.

Researcher Hygrometers

Hygrometers are of huge use in laboratories. They are known as chilled mirror hygrometer. It notes the time when water vapor starts condensing. Frost Point Hygrometers are most common and reliable.

They are used to depict water vapor distribution on the earth surface and thus is useful for global warming predictions and CO2 level in the atmosphere. Standard laboratory ones are made for refrigeration, incubators and so on. They measure in a range of 0 to 100% in an accuracy level with minus %. They are made of plastic and stainless steels.

Controlling Devices

Other than depicting weather problems and getting data on the level of presence of moisture, certain hygrometers in devices are used for controlling the level in the atmosphere. Some of them consist of a Humidistat.

The Hygrometer after measuring humidity sends in a signal to the humidistat which triggers the increase or decrease in temperature according to requirements. They are mostly used in refrigerators, air conditions and coolers. In Incubators humidity controllers are used that control 30-90% relative humidity within a 5% variance and turn the machine on and off as needed.

Manual Hygrometers

They are small ones for little uses and come in shapes of sticks or clock dials. In case of wooden musical instruments like Violin or Guitar might get damaged if the humidity level is more than 40% and thus manual hygrometers are attached. Digitalized ones are kept in nurseries or in zoos to measure the amount of moisture needed for life in the place.
